Finally BTS members get to go on a well deserved holiday !

Army update !

Today Big Hit Entertainment wrote in an open announcement , “We would like to announce that for the first time since their debut, BTS will be going on an official and extended period of rest and relaxation. Today’s LOTTE DUTY FREE FAMILY CONCERT performance will mark the last scheduled event before the members prepare to take their vacations. This period of rest will be an opportunity for the members of BTS, who have relentless (sic) driven themselves toward their goal since their debut, to recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators. This will also provide them with a chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly. During this time, the members will rest and recharge in their own personal ways. Should you have a chance encounter with a member of BTS while they are on vacation, we ask that you show them consideration for their need to rest and enjoy their private time off. BTS will return refreshed and recharged to return all the love you have and continue to show them. Thank you.”

The group’s final performance took place on Sunday, at the Lotte Duty Free concert, which took place at the Olympic Park’s Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul. BTS performed on the final day of the three-day event, and performed their hits “Fake Love,” “Best of Me,” “Boy With Luv,” and “Home.”

The break makes sense, too. The band has been going non-stop for most of the past year, with back to back tours running from Aug. 2018 to April 2019 and then from May 2019 to July 2019. What’s more: the band formed all the way back in 2013. I can’t personally speak to any breaks they’ve taken in the time since, but the letter notes that they’re taking a vacation “for the first time since their debut(!)” That’s a whole lot of time for anyone to spend in the spotlight.

While certain members of the band will likely be somewhat active and present online given their social media habits, this break is very real. The ARMY is taking it in stride, too, populating a #RestWellBTS hashtag with words of encouragement for the hard-working K-Pop sensation.

Do let us know how you feel about this recent update.
